One of the most important Italian IF authors, Marco Innocenti, after winning the IFComp in 2012 with the acclaimed and legacy-spanning science fiction masterpiece Andromeda Apocalypse returns to the scene with an engaging and dramatic adventure.

A1RLØCK takes the path of in media res narrative to propose a game halfway between horror and science fiction, where the player discovers the story one step at a time, solving puzzles and exporing a laboratory station ravaged by destruction.

In a desperate attempt not to lose hope and find a way out of this hell, Chloe, the little girl protagonist of A1RLØCK, will first have to save her own skin and in the meantime give answers to a mystery that deepens at every turn. Where is the station where Chloe is held captive? What caused the disaster that made the structure unsafe? Who are the people calling her from the intercom and what are their intentions? And finally, what is the terrible secret that is hidden down here, over two thousand meters below sea level?

Created with Inform6’s Puny­Inform libraries, A1RLØCK revives the Infocom text adventure parser of the 1980s in all its splendor. The system is in fact capable of understanding and interpreting complex commands and working simply in English, leaving the player with the sole aim of having fun and finding the solution to the mystery.

However, A1RLØCK is not just a puzzle game, as the narrative aspect has been pushed to the maximum. The descriptions and answers don’t just show what you see, but have their own tone of voice, as expected from an author’s novel.

A1RLØCK placed second in PunyJam#3, the March 2023 online competition for adventures created with PunyInform. Version 3.2, contained in this package, has been expanded, improved and perfected, for a unique and memorable gaming experience.
