Hyper Runner is a classic, time-based racing game for all AGA Amigas, set in a futuristic world.

The player can choose between 5 different vehicles, each with its own characteristics, and between 12 drivers, who further influence the overall performance – namely top speed, acceleration, manoeuvrability and durability.

The player must complete five stages, at the end of each of which they can choose between two possible paths along the current track, resulting in a total of 16 possible routes across 15 different stages.

As well as keeping an eye on a countdown timer, the player must negotiate bends and avoid other racers and obstacles that can slow them down or cause damage. If time runs out before the end of a stage, or if the vehicle is completely damaged, the race is over.

The vehicles are equipped with a power booster, whose limited energy supply can be used strategically to overtake other players or gain extra speed on straighter sections of the track. If the booster is not used, the energy reserve slowly replenishes itself.

To help players, various power-ups are occasionally available, such as body repair kits, booster refills and extra time.
