The Amiga 500 in Revison 5 and the Amiga 2000 in Revision 4 is not able to handle the Kickstart ROMs as EPROM devices. The ROM adapter solves this problem, no matter which Kickstart Rom is on the EPROM.
It is absolutely necessary for the use of AmigaOS 3.1.4 or 3.2 Kickstart, because it is only delivered on EPROM.
