KickRom-Progger Flash Rom programming device v2

With the KickRom-Progger v2 you can program/read out Flash-Rom (27C400 emulators) components in version 1.0 (pin header must be turned accordingly) up to 2.0 from Alinea Computer as well as read out commercially available 27C400 components. The programming device can be operated directly on your Amiga via the serial interface. In addition to the serial interface, the programmer can also be connected to any computer via USB. The programmer is operated via its own firmware, which is controlled from the computer via a terminal programme and can therefore be run on virtually any platform.  From V2 onwards, the Progger has a USB-C socket for data transfer and power supply instead of a MicroUSB interface.

The device is the world's first programmer that can burn its own Kickstart roms directly on the Amiga.

• As of V2, the Y modem is also supported in addition to the X modem protocol. The programming device has the following additional capabilities with the Y modem protocol:
  • File size of the file to be programmed is checked before the programming process
  • Support for packet sizes of 1024 bytes. This enables faster transmission.
  • All 4 blocks can be read out directly and are automatically divided into four files and named according to the block numbers (rom_x.bin).
  • All 4 blocks can be written directly to the respective block by naming the block number in the file name (file_[1-4]).
  • A byte swap is automatically performed for .rom based on the file extension
• Firmware can be updated by the user via serial interface

System requirements

• Minimum for Amiga computers: 68000 processor and 1 MB Ram and serial interface
• Recommended configuration for Amiga computers: 68020 processor and 4 MB Ram or higher with a desired maximum transfer speed of full 115,200 Bps
• Optional: interface card for transfers with less processor load
• Alternatively: Computer with USB interface (up to 921,600 Bps possible with USB)
• 5V power supply or joyport power adapter (selectable above) with cable and USB-C connector to power the unit
• Terminal programme (Ncom is recommended on the Amiga, as Y-modem mode works when reading the blocks, unfortunately writing is only possible individually)
